We are trying to catch crucian carp

Fishing Academy

Probably, there is no other fish like crucian carp, to catching which our great connoisseur of fishing was so disdainful L.P.Sabaneev. Here is what he wrote: “Due to the lethargy of the bite and the low resistance of the caught crucian carp, angling this fish is not particularly interesting, and for river hunters it is even more boring than angling tench ... In my opinion, the fish should be valued by a hunter not for the quality and taste of meat , but only by the degree of difficulty in catching and the amount of resistance it offers. "

And in fact, the caught crucian carp is not a fighter and therefore obediently follows towards its gastronomic fate.

After reading these lines, a not too experienced fisherman can conclude that it is not difficult to get a simpleton, a crucian carp. In practice, the well-known proverb is very suitable for catching this fish: "You cannot easily take the fish out of the pond." The crucian carp more than compensates for the lack of fighting ability with endless inexplicable whims, which make catching it a very difficult task.

Catching crucian carp can be on float rod, zakidushku, jig, bottom rod and, in some cases, for spinning... Fishing rod 4.5-5 m long, fishing line 0.15-0.3 mm in diameter, hooks No. 4-6, sinker - pellet. There are a great many such tackles, so I will tell you in more detail about only some of them, which have proven themselves well when fishing for crucian carp. One of the successful versions of such a fishing rod is shown on picture 1... The "salt" of this tackle is a float. It consists of a body and a signaling rod. The body and the signaling rod are made of polystyrene foam. Such a float is very sensitive and reacts to the slightest touch to the nozzle, immediately signaling a bite. This is especially important when fishing for crucian carp.

They catch carp and bottom gear: on the bottom with a shock absorber - on the "elastic" (see fig. 2), for a zakidushka.

Quite interesting in my opinion spinning carp fishing... But this method is used in special cases. For example, a fish does not bite from the shore, but walks about 20-30 meters, giving itself out in bursts. This is where spinning comes in handy. Put a float on the line (30-40 cm from the end), just below a light weight, then tie the hook. Plant a large worm (preferably red dung) and cast in the place where the crucian carp walk.

If everything is done correctly, then the bite will follow immediately. And the biting can last long enough, because the fall of the float on the water, the fuss of the crucian carp on the hook itself will not alert other fish, and they will be caught one by one.

Nibble - this is probably the most relevant topic when fishing for crucian carp. This fish is very picky: on the same pond on the same day, the angler has to use a wide variety of attachments. For example, on Monday, crucian carp is perfectly caught on pellets of black bread, on Tuesday on the same pond - exclusively on red dung worm. On Wednesday, he wants to try rounds of semolina mixed with hemp cake, on Thursday, serve him steamed peas, or there won't be a single bite. On Friday, present a sandwich: maggot-bloodworm, caddisfly-burdock moth. And on Saturday it is a day off.

What can you say about the predilection of crucian carp for oil products? It so happens that a few drops of kerosene added to the nozzle can whet his appetite.

Not a single fish plagues the angler with its whims like the crucian carp. Therefore, going after crucian carp, it will not be superfluous to take with you the maximum supply of various baits. If the biting of fish is a mystery of nature, then the biting of the crucian carp is perhaps akin to the mystery of the Egyptian pyramids. In addition, the most important part for successful carp fishing is lure... Without it, you can only catch this fish by accident. And you need not just bait, but bait with special properties. It should be: firstly, nutritious (otherwise the fish will find a more suitable food for themselves); secondly, to be noticeable for the crucian carp (and at the same time not to alert him); thirdly, to attract the smell and taste, since he is a great gourmet.

The nozzle is usually thrown into “windows” between plants or near their edges. Depending on weather conditions, time of year and day, crucian carp can stay near the bottom, and in half water and at the very surface. Therefore, the amount of float release should be checked by trial fishing.

The bite of the crucian carp is quite diverse: sometimes it puts the float like a bream, sometimes it leads it along the surface without dipping it, sometimes it “crushes” it finely and then immerses it. By the time of the sweep, it is necessary to specially adapt.

If you are going to catch carp, please be patient, and most importantly, try different options for baits and baits. Experiment, and only then will the coveted crucian carp be your trophy.

Features of fishing in June for pike

According to experienced fishermen, June is the most favorable time for spinning pike. The fact is that on June 15, the spawning ban is lifted everywhere and summer spinning for pike is completely allowed. You can catch this fish both from the shore and from the boat.

To catch such a fish with a spinning rod, you can use the following devices:

  • spinners. Spinning lure is quite popular among fishing enthusiasts, as well as oscillating lure
  • wobblers
  • jig silicone.

Before you go fishing for pike, you should know in which places this fish is found most often. Experienced fishermen have identified a number of places where this fish can be found:

  1. In places with large stones.
  2. In the reeds.
  3. At the drops in the depths of the reservoir.
  4. She loves to hide in the moss.

These places are a kind of refuge for them, where they lie in wait for their prey. Consequently, in mid-June, such fish can be caught even in shallow water.

In summer, pike starts hunting in the evening or early in the morning. To catch large pike, it is best to use animal bait, in particular:

  • frogs
  • worms
  • river lamprey.

In summer, a toothed predator weighing more than 4 kilograms can swallow fish weighing up to 500 grams.

Novice fishermen should take into account that pike fishing in summer requires the right choice of bait. The fact is that these toothed predators have different taste preferences depending on their habitat. In some places, such a predator can only be caught with live bait. And in other reservoirs, they peck at the wobbler perfectly. But, these preferences disappear as soon as a cold snap comes.

It should also be borne in mind that on cloudy and stormy days, this fish becomes very energetic and active. Fishing for this predator sometimes depends on luck, there may be a day when this fish goes for all the bait, but there are also days of complete calm.

Catching crucian carp requires observation

Many anglers love to catch crucian carp, and there are those who are waiting for the open water fishing period to go after the crucian carp. Although fishing for crucian carp is not as exciting as searching for other fish, and you do not need to move from one place to another in search of standing fish, the number of carp lovers is not diminishing.

The thing is that crucian carp is not only tasty, but also a fairly common fish. It can be found in almost any body of water, from lakes to small rivers. The most pleasant thing in fishing for crucian carp is calm fishing, which also allows you to relax in nature, which is very valuable for many fishermen.

In summer, crucian carp is careful and fastidious. Therefore, you need to catch it in complete silence, not coming close to the water. Despite the fact that the crucian carp does not strongly resist when playing, it should not be hastily pulled out. If a larger specimen is caught, it will fall off, breaking the line.

I caught a lot of different fish, but I have a special account of crucian carp. And if for a while I am distracted by catching carp, then after a while I remember about my favorite carp. This fish beckons me directly.

You can read a lot about the habits and preferences of crucian carp, but I prefer to check everything on my own experience. And any fisherman will confirm that observation on fishing is the key to success.

Fishing on the surface

It is known that on quiet sunny days in the late afternoon, crucian carp rises in a flock to the surface of the water and can stay there for hours. At such a time, it can be easily caught at a distance of 30-50 cm from the surface using vegetable nozzles.

I was once fishing in the pond. It was late summer. The nibble was not as good as we wanted, but it was still. We caught carp the size of a palm. It was about lunchtime when I heard splashes of fish on the other side of the river, near the reeds. There was a slight wind and balls of some seeds fell on the water. I noticed that the balls, driven by the wind, disappeared from the surface of the water at the place where the fish splashed. The fish itself suggested the bait for further fishing. And so I, having collected these seed balls, was already standing on the boat about ten meters from the "active" place. He did not come closer, so as not to frighten off the crucian carp.

Having removed the sinker from the fishing rod, I secured a small piece of foam, and just below a ball of seeds and threw the fishing rod. The expected bites did not follow. I tried to use worms, bread, barley as bait - all in vain. There were no bursts. They resumed only when the balls brought by the wind appeared on the surface of the water. One, second, third splash - and I saw how my nozzle went into the depths. At last! Here it is, the long-awaited half-kilogram crucian carp! Not all bites that day were successful. Then I caught six large crucians. It was a rare occasion when such a large fish could be caught from the surface of the water.

Catching in the wiring

The wiring is used when fishing in a pond with the current. Moving bait attracts not only crucian carp, but also any other fish. If there is no current in the reservoir, the wiring can be carried out in the direction of the wind.

Crucian carp can be found in areas with both clean water areas and vegetated bodies of water. Each place has its own peculiarities of fishing.

In clean waters, the fish is more attracted by the nozzle lying at the bottom. When the reservoir is full of vegetation, crucian carp feeds not only on young shoots, but also on insect larvae. In these places you should look for it near the surface of the water.

In the summer I prefer to fish from a boat using two rods. Once I went fishing on a cool, slightly windy day. At first there were no bites, but after a while I noticed how one float lay on the water. Tried to hook, but failed. I saw the float of the second fishing rod. In order not to be torn between two rods, I removed one. He pulled out a crucian carp, threw a fishing rod, when suddenly the float lay down on the water again. Apparently, the crucian carp was attracted by the nozzle moving along the bottom, and grabbing it, he thereby laid down the float. My further fishing continued with a fishing rod abandoned at an angle in the direction of the wind.

The composition of the bait mixture: choosing the best

  1. Club Bremes bait mixture for bream Sensas 3000
  2. Traper Bream Feeding Mix
  3. Feeding mix Gold-Pro Gel for bream Van Den Eynde Marsel
  4. Green fishing Feeder for bream
  5. Sensas 3000 Explosive Gardon roach feed mix
  6. Minenko Pro Sport roach feed mixture
  7. Gardon Black groundbait mix for Sensas Aromix roach
  8. Effective bait mix for crucian carp or tench Traper Sekret
  9. Feeding mixture Carassin for crucian carp or carp Sensas 3000
  10. VDE Superfeed Mix for Marcel Feeder
  11. Cooking your favorite carp food any time of the year
  12. What are the most common ingredients to include in carp feed?

To achieve the desired good catch, you need to pay attention to the bait mixture. Previously, it was rarely used, but now it is quite popular and is capable of stimulating fish biting well in the chosen water location. To find a good groundbait mix, you need to follow some rules.

1. You need to choose nut, coffee or vanilla dark baits for fishing roach.

2. If you are going to fish in a small reservoir, in which there are a lot of small fish, you need to use a powdery mixture, that is, a fine fraction.

3. If there is a desire to fish large aggregates, then you need to dilute the mixture with wheat bread crumbs or corn.

4. Carp bait should be coarsely ground with added corn and sweetish aroma. Ottak "yummy" fish will develop a generally brutal appetite.

5. The unpretentious fish include bream and crucian carp, which are not averse to feasting on any aromatic mixtures, do not favor only with seafood.

Light-colored bait mixtures are considered more productive, since they are considered noticeable at any depth.

Features of catching crucian carp

Crucian carp, like carp and carp, is a very careful fish that sees and hears everyone and everything. Also, crucian carp is very sensitive to odors.

What can not be done when fishing for crucian carp

As already mentioned, crucian carp is very sensitive to odors, therefore, first of all, when going fishing, forget about any kind of perfumery. Any cologne or aftershave applied before fishing will remain on your hands. You may not even hear this smell, but when preparing groundbait, these particles will get into the water and scare off the crucian carp. The same applies to creams for mosquitoes and midges, be careful. Also, if you are leaving by car, it is better to fill up the fuel in the evening.

Clothing also plays an important role: camouflaged clothing is not so noticeable against the background of the coast. Favorite place, this is good, but if you sit facing the east, where the sun rises, the crucian carp will see you, no matter how quiet you sit.

When crucian carp switches to plant food, you need to know what he likes. His food is varied, from barley to corn. I usually buy a ground mix. This mixture consists of corn, pearl barley, oats, wheat and most of the ground seeds.

In the mixture for fishing on the "nipple" or, as it is also called, "tyrant", I add flour for viscosity. It has been noticed that if you catch a crucian carp for corn, then it is very picky. According to my observations, the best carp is caught on corn from "Bonduelle", it is sweeter than grain. You can also add juice from this jar to the mixture being prepared, the bite is enhanced.

When preparing the mixture, you must use water from the reservoir in which you fish. Other water can only scare off crucian carp. You can also add 1-2 drops of anise oil to the mixture (based on 3-5 liters of the mixture). It is best to mix water from a reservoir with anise and corn juice right away.

One important factor: before sentencing the mixture, wash your hands in the pond, especially if you were holding the caught fish (the slime of this fish is unacceptable in a mixture with bait and can also scare off crucian carp).

Here the variety is huge, I will just dwell on what I catch constantly. The simplest Chinese-made fishing rod measuring 2.1-2.5 meters with a flexible tip. I will dwell on the reel in more detail, since it plays an important role when hooking and playing. The coil must be non-inertial. As the practice of casting has shown, for a soft move with a winding of the forest 0.3 to 100 meters, it is desirable to have at least two bearings.

The main line I have is from Perfect, it has proven itself quite good in terms of price / quality ratio, with a diameter of 0.3-0.35. On the leash I put mainly a leash line with a diameter of 0.18.

Float selection. Crucian carp takes very carefully, he needs to "feel" the nozzle, so I recommend floats for a load of 1.5-2.5 grams. For what, you ask? In order to see the slightest movement in the area of the hook. The bite of the crucian carp is varied, it can sink a little, can immediately pull it down, and maybe even drive from side to side, "play".

If a fisherman has been fishing at the headquarters for a long time, then he already knows how the crucian carp pecks in this place. Hook.I give preference to the company "Kobra", the sizes are selected from the size of the bait, so that it covers at least 2/3 of the hook, the color is mostly golden.

I take spring nipples, I didn’t like the skirt ones from the very beginning, because of the quick release of the mixture when casting. I will reveal a little secret, which I have personally verified. I do not sink the hooks into the mixture, as many do, but I put corn on each hook and only then sink into the mixture, there were practically no gatherings. On the last hook, I put on 2-3 corn kernels (experience shows that the last hook is caught the most). Now an important thing, in my opinion, is a stand. I use a clamshell stand. When using a "slingshot", the bite is practically invisible due to the rigidity of the entire structure. The "clamshell" allows you to see even how the crucian carp "sucks" the bait. The bell mounted on the tip of the rod tinkles a little, but does not tinkle. When biting, the rod trembles very much, and with a good specimen (800 g and above), it simply leaves the stand into the water. The main thing here is not to miss the moment, otherwise the result will be disastrous. Positioning the rod is best perpendicular to the line tension.

Fishing for crucian carp

According to my observations, crucian carp behaves differently at different rates. If at one rate you need to hook at once, then at the other you need to wait two or even three bites. It all depends on how hungry and fearful the crucian is in this place. But you shouldn't rush either. Sometimes, when casting on a nearby fishing rod, a quick bite occurs. This means that the crucian carp, sucking the bait, got scared and "gave a tear", here waiting for death is similar, if it is not hooked instantly, then the descent will be one hundred percent. No need to jerk the rod hard. If it is hard for you, then you will simply break the lip of the crucian carp and it will leave, but if the rod is soft, then the hook will be insufficient and it will also come off freely.

So you've hooked your prey. The main thing is not to let him get off the hook. Crucian carp loves to do pirouettes under water, which means that you must always keep the line tight. An important point is the place where the fishing takes place - it must be cleared of all kinds of vegetation. Crucian carp always tries to go into the grass or reeds, which will entail hooks and falls.

Let's say that you have cleared a place and you lead your fish to the shore. Don't rush things. Crucian carp sometimes just keeps the strength for the last dash. When approaching the shore, it is best to release the landing net into the water. Do not under any circumstances make sudden movements or loud entrances into the water, the crucian carp can make a dash and leave. It is advisable to put a weaker descent on the reel - this will save you from line breaks. Place the fish in the net and only then lift it.

What size pond is needed

The first question that arises for a person who decides to start breeding crucian carp in the country is which pond is suitable. It is very prudent to think about this in advance.

In general, even a small pond is suitable - the main thing is that it is deep enough. But no one will be content with two or three small carp. Consider - the larger the area of the pond, the more fish you can put there, and the larger they will reach by 3-4 years.

The minimum pond area is 10-15 square meters. But keep in mind - the larger the volume of the pond, the more fish you can get from it. Experienced breeders use a simple formula - 1 ton of fish per 40 tonnes of water. Of course, in the wild, being in such conditions, the fish will simply die - there will not be enough food. But at home, this problem is easily solved - it is much easier to provide carp with suitable food than to dig a pond with an area of several hectares to grow a ton of fish.
